Little Arm and Hand

Here's another ultrasound of baby's arm and hand -- notice, it has 5 fingers on its little hand.

Baby Face

We had our first ultrasound today (I'm at week 17)! It was pretty amazing -- we could see its face, hands, legs, feet, heart beat and also the spine and ribs. It weighs 6 oz (so half a pound). We also saw the little bladder and stomach, they just looked like black dots.

Christmas Holidays in Saskatchewan

We had a fun, festive time in Saskatchewan with Geoff's family. Can you believe there were 23 people in ONE house during Christmas Eve? My ears are still ringing ;)

Mom -- The Quilt Machine

As you may or may not know, my mom is passionate about quilt-making. During the holidays, she was creating this awesome purple pattern.

Mom made a quilt and gave it to Marlene and I (my neice Amelia wanted to be in the picture too). The quilt is called "Flying Geese". The triangles are abstracted Canada Geese flying together in a flock. All the triangle colours are from old outfits Mom made. The fabrics came from a variety of sources ... from old childrens' clothes to her old square-dance dresses.

Nikki and Betty Ann were at Mom and Dad's for supper. Matt and Lawerence hung out a little longer and played poker. Randy and his family showed up a little later. At the end of the night Lawerence, Stuart, Matt, Brandon and I went to see the new "King Kong" movie.

Story Time with Mom

Mom goes over all the funny tales of having 7 kids.

Fluffy the Reindeer

Earlier in the holiday, Sonia and I made a snow reindeer (everone else was sick with a cold). We piled some snow over a wooden frame -- Sonia found a gold ball for his nose and we added a red scarf. After a couple of days, some icicles formed around his mouth.

Bowling!!!

After sitting around and eating for a couple of days, a group of us decided to do some serious bowling. The bowlers were Geoff, Stuart, Lawrence, Matt, Stephanie and Sonia. Marlene was the cheering section.

Birthday Cake

Dec.26: We had family photos since everyone was in town. We also celebrated a couple of holiday birthdays. After the pictures, everyone went to mom and dad's place for food and ice cream cake to celebrate Randy and Brandon’s birthdays. On Dec.29, Randy turned 41. On Dec.30, Brandon turned 14.
