Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park / Lindeman Lake Hike

We had an awesome camping/hiking weekend with our friends. We had some fun camping, swimming, and general lazing aroung. This is a pic from our hike to Lindeman Lake. It took approx. 30 minutes and wasn't too hard.

Taking a Break

Amanda enjoys an awesome lunch. Marlene was the lunch girl that made everyone sandwiches. It was the last time we'll see Amanda for a while -- she'll be going back to Boston College at the end of August.

Grizzly Adams

Jeremy has grown this crazy thick beard. He looked like a laid back, granola eating hiking guy.

Everyone Loves Dreya

Dreya is 1 year and 4 months and has already been camping 3 times. Everyone took turns having fun with her. Chris and Nancy (her parents) are great campers and are a lot of fun around the campfire. Chris wrote a spontaneous funny song called "The Whole Bag Of Spitz Is Gone." We couldn't get the song out of our head for 3 days.

Train Trip To Whistler

The gang at Signals pitched in and treated us to a train and hotel package to Whistler. Thank You -- we had an amazing time.

Great Views From The Train

The train ride was awesome. Our eyes were treated to some of the best scenery in the world.

The View from Mount Whistler

The top of the mountain had breathtaking views of the surrounding area. It was a long ride up -- but well worth it. There was even a restaurant near the peak. We split a BBQ beef sandwich and fries. (Yum!!!)

Geoff and Black Tusk (in the background)

The black spikey mountain is called Black Tusk. The shape was created when the volcanic mountain last erupted.

What Came First — The Logo or The Inukshuk?

We saw a couple of huge inukshuks at the top of Mount Whistler. I think they are new ... and were probably created after the Olympic logo was designed.

Hanging with Tahanni

In July, our niece came to visit us for a week. We had a great time showing her all over Vancouver. These are a few shots from Granville Island (love the pic from the hat shop).

Painting Chickens

Inspired by Aunt Bernice's exotic chickens, I've been experimenting with paintings for my friend's upcoming craft fair (called Art on the Farm). This is my favourite painting so far. This one is not for sale. It's called "Mother Hen". You can see on the left, my sketch on the canvas, and also the first layer of white paint. The finished product is quite raw, but I like seeing all the texture and colour of the underpaint.
