Treasure Island by Signals Design and Coast Paper

Projects at the annual CANstruction competition are currently on display at the cruise ship terminal at Canada Place. The 'food raiser' for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank features 27 sculptures — including Treasure Island, created by Signals Design and Coast Paper — and are built from non-perishable food donations. Nearly, 100,000 cans were collected this year. (Vancouver Sun caption)

Our Canstruction Team

Signals Design and Coast Paper joined up to donate and create. Our sculpture had over $5,000 worth of cans for the Vancouver Food Bank. Our captain, Mike Savage is in the upper right and wearing his "hillbilly teeth."

We Made the Paper ...

As you can see, the food "skull-pture" looks pretty good in the paper.

Amigurumi Cupcake

I have experienced an Amigurumi Awakening! Yes, this whole world of crocheted Japanese toys has just been exposed to me! I'm taking beginner crochet lessons and have been obsessed with making these little toys! My goal is to make a cute orange cat doll. Here's my first completed project: a crocheted cupcake -- so adorably yummy looking!
